The introduction of new platforms and medium of providing services to clients emphasized the critical role of data privacy factor in a typical Filipino’s day-to-day engagement online. The rate at which these changes are occurring can cause bigger risks to data privacy and protection if PICs and PIPs are not cautious in choosing the right platforms to provide their services.
As the authority on data privacy and to empower our citizens as we adjust to the new normal, the National Privacy Commission will bring its Privacy, Safety, Security, and Trust Online (PSST!) communication campaign online.
The PSST! is an advocacy campaign that emphasizes the central role of data subjects in creating a digital democratic space conducive to privacy, safety, security, and trust. Being a call out to online Filipinos, this campaign aims to empower digital citizens by increasing their awareness on their data privacy rights and responsibilities. Through their empowerment, the campaign’s goal is to achieve resiliency and build a culture of privacy among its stakeholders.
