Privacy Commission Maintains ISO Certification

The National Privacy Commission (NPC) maintained its International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2015 certification after successfully passing its 2nd Surveillance Audit conducted on December 15, 2023.

ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognized standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS), it shows the importance of continuously improving performance, meeting customer expectations, and demonstrating commitment to quality across all organizational levels.

The Surveillance Audit involved an evaluation of the NPC’s QMS to determine its implementation, maintenance, and sustainability. The certifying body, SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc., expressed confidence that the NPC continues to fulfill the requirements for international standards and recommended for its ISO 9001:2015 re-certification.

Privacy Commissioner Atty. John Henry D. Naga is proud of this accomplishment stating, “Maintaining the NPC’s ISO 9001:2015 certification is a testament to its dedication to quality management and to provide services to our stakeholders at par with international standards. The NPC is poised to continuously progress and enhance our operational efficiency, streamline processes, and perform our mandate with greater value to Filipinos and organizations we serve.”

The Privacy Commissioner also assured stakeholders that the NPC will continue to uphold organizational productivity while protecting the privacy rights of Filipinos, fostering trust, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery.

The NPC’s ISO certification was first issued on December 31, 2021. ISO 9001 is recognized as the world's most widely used quality management standard, with over one million certificates issued to organizations in 189 countries.
